Introducing our new Football Safeguarding and Welfare Manager

Charmain Duberry has stepped up to the new role of London FA Football Safeguarding & Welfare Manager following the departure of Harry Woodley.

We are pleased to announce that Charmain DUBERRY has been appointed as our new Football Safeguarding & Welfare Manager.

Charmain brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, having worked with us at London FA for four months as Football Safeguarding Case Officer and previously in child protection and social care roles.

Charmain will become the main point of contact for all our clubs, leagues, referees, volunteers, parents, and players regarding safeguarding and welfare, as well as working closely with our Club Welfare Officer network. 

Melanie Armstrong, London FA Head of Football Services, said: “We are delighted that Charmain has assumed the important position of Football Safeguarding & Welfare Manager at the London FA. With her extensive expertise in safeguarding, she will play a key role ensuring that football across the capital remains a safe, enjoyable, and positive experience for children, young people, and adults alike.”

Charmain added: “My passion for helping children and young people thrive and become the best versions of themselves has allowed me to bring my skills and experience to this exciting role. It’s a privilege to be part of such a dynamic and fun sport!”
