London FA celebrate Grassroots Award winners
In partnership with City of London, London FA hosted our 2024 Grassroots Awards night at the prestigious Guildhall on Thursday 10th October.
Joined by the London grassroots football community, we hosted a night of celebration of our Grassroots Award winners for 2024 to commemorate their achievements.
The awards celebrate those individuals who make a positive contribution to football across the capital and gives London FA the chance to recognise those volunteers who make such an impact on our community.
Hosted once again by London FA Community Champion, Girls United Coach, and Editor-in-Chief of three coaching magazines Steph Fairbairn and UEFA B Coach, Director of Women’s Football at Camden & Islington United, and co-found of Women of the Lane Ali Speechly, we welcomed each of our winners to the stage to accept their award and share the impact of their work.
Our winners:
- Match Official of the Year – Marco Goumal
- Coach of the Year (Male Pathway) – Chris Hiscock
- Coach of the Year (Female Pathway) – Richard Siaw
- Coach of the Year (Disability Pathway) – Memnos Costi
- New Volunteer of the Year – Aaron Heaven
- Young Volunteer of the Year – Muneerah Balesaria
- Keeping Football Positive Award – Lisa-Marie Powell
- The Lioness Award – Ellen Maggs
- Grounds Team of the Year – Long Lane JFC
- League of the Year – London County Saturday Football League
- Club of the Year – Vicky Park Rangers

The awards night headline sponsor was Pukka, whose sponsorship underscores Pukka’s commitment to supporting grassroots football by recognising and celebrating the achievements of individuals and organisations across the capital and rewarding the warmth of the game.
Other sponsors include Panini, Globe Print, HCR Law, Altair, The Hub London and TeamFeePay. London FA would like to thank them for their commitment to grassroots football.
We were also proud to welcome three Guest of Honours to the stage! Former professional footballer Andy Cole, former Lioness Rachel Yankey, and current England Powerchair captain Jon Bolding all diligently handed out awards to our winners and participated in a Q&A session during the ceremony. It was a pleasure to have all three attend our event.
